High End studio maternity session

Maternity Photographer

on Sydney's North Shore

There are seasons in motherhood that pass before you realise they're passing. A maternity session captures the weeks before everything changes — present, real, entirely yourself.

I'm based on Sydney's North Shore and photograph maternity sessions across the city — at golden hour around Balmoral Beach, the Northern Beaches, the quieter parks of the North Shore and Centennial Parklands, or wherever holds meaning for you.

Prefer something calmer? I also offer private studio maternity sessions in central locations around Sydney — soft natural light, a minimal set and no distractions. Sessions photograph beautifully between 28 and 34 weeks.

Every session is relaxed and fully customised. I guide you through each pose so you never have to wonder what to do, and we build the shoot around what feels right for you. High-end portraits that still feel like you.

The maternity session experience

The right time

Maternity sessions photograph best between 28 and 34 weeks - when the bump is unmistakable but you're still feeling like yourself. This is a chance to slow down and mark the weeks before everything changes, in images that feel calm, natural and completely like you.

On the day

There's no rushing and no standing awkwardly wondering what to do. I guide you through everything - how to move, where to stand, how to hold the moment - and the session is shaped around you as we go. Most clients tell me it felt nothing like what they expected, and that they're glad they did it when they did.

Planning your session

It starts well before the day. Once you enquire, I'll help you plan the whole thing-what to wear, where we'll shoot, and how to make it feel easy rather than posed. I send a styling guide and custom mood board before every session so you're never guessing, and we'll settle on golden hour on-location or a quiet private studio, whichever suits you best.

Your gallery

Afterwards, your edited gallery is ready to view and order from within 10 days. From there you can choose the images you love as a collection of a digital gallery or prints to keep.

Bump to baby

Many mothers choose to capture both chapters, the final weeks of pregnancy and those first newborn days. A bump-to-baby package brings your maternity and newborn sessions together, so the whole beginning is documented in one relaxed, connected style.

Book both as a package for a special offer.  Get in touch and I'll tailor it to your due date.

Maternity photography FAQ

01.

When should I book a maternity photoshoot?

Between 28 and 34 weeks is ideal - the bump is well-defined but you're still comfortable. The last few weeks before your due date work too; I've photographed mums the day before. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead, as spring and summer dates fill quickly, and know that a late-pregnancy session is just harder to reschedule if baby comes early.

02.

Where do you photograph maternity sessions?

On-location at golden hour around Balmoral Beach, the Northern Beaches, the North Shore and Centennial Parklands, or in a private studio in a central Sydney location.

03.

Studio or on-location — which should I choose?

Studio sessions are quiet, controlled and intimate. On-location at golden hour makes the most of natural light and space. Tell me what you're imagining and I'll suggest the fit.

04.

Can we shoot in the Eastern Suburbs or another location?

Yes, while I'm based on the North Shore, I regularly photograph across the city, including Centennial Parklands and the Eastern Suburbs. Mention your preferred location when you enquire and I'll let you know if any travel applies.

What should I wear for a maternity shoot?

05.

I send a personalised styling guide before every session, but as a rule: fitted pieces that show the bump, soft fabrics that move, and colours that feel like you. I have a small collection of dresses available to borrow, and we'll plan your outfits together before the day.

Can my partner and children be in the photos?

06.

Absolutely, maternity sessions often include partners and older children, and some of the warmest frames come from them. Just let me know who's joining when you enquire so I can plan the session around everyone.

What happens if it rains or I'm unwell on the day?

07.

We simply reschedule, no stress and no penalty. For outdoor sessions I keep an eye on the forecast, and if the weather turns we'll move to a better day or shift to a studio. Your comfort comes first, especially this close to your due date.

How much does a maternity session cost?

08.

The outdoor session fee is $250 for 60–90 minutes, or $350 in studio. Portrait collections start from $500.

How soon will I get my photos?

09.

Your edited gallery is ready to view and order from within 10 days of your session.

Do you offer a maternity and newborn package?

10.

Yes, a bump-to-baby package brings both sessions together in one connected style, available as a special offer. Get in touch and I'll put something together tailored to your due date.
